Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy covers the Generify website, a QR code generation utility provided for educational purposes only. It describes what happens to information when you use the site — which, as set out below, is that it never leaves your device.

2. Information we collect

None. Generify is published as a static website. It has no backend application, no database and no API that receives your information. There is no sign-up form, and there is no field anywhere on this site that asks you to type a mobile number or any identifier.

Because of this, we cannot see your account details, your uploaded images or the order QR codes you generate, and we have nothing to sell, share or disclose to anyone.

3. Information stored on your device

For the site to be useful across visits, some information is saved in your browser’s localStorage. This never leaves your device. It consists of:

• The mobile number and the account identifier read from each registration QR code you upload.
• A pointer to which of those accounts is currently active.
• Your order history: the order ID, the QR code data, the mobile number and account identifier of the account that was active at the time, and the timestamp of generation.

You can inspect this data yourself in your browser’s developer tools, under storage for this site.

4. How long it is kept

• Accounts stay until you remove them, or until you clear this site’s data in your browser.
• Order history entries are deleted automatically 24 hours after they are generated. The site erases expired entries from your device when it loads and while it is open — they are removed, not merely hidden.

The account page also has a Clear data on this device action that removes every saved account and the entire order history at once.

5. Images you upload

When you upload a registration QR code, the image is decoded inside your browser using your device’s own processing. The file is not uploaded to any server, is not stored by the site, and is discarded from memory once it has been read. Only the mobile number and account identifier contained in the code are kept, in the local storage described above.

6. Cookies, analytics and third parties

This site sets no cookies. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no social media widgets. Fonts and all other assets are served from this domain, so simply loading a page does not cause requests to any third-party service.

7. Web server logs

The static files that make up this site are delivered by a hosting provider. As with any website, that provider’s servers may record standard technical access logs — such as an IP address, a timestamp and the file requested — for security and operational purposes. These logs are a function of web hosting rather than of this application: they are not linked to any account, they do not contain any information you enter or upload here, and they are not used to identify individual visitors.

8. Your control over your information

Because the information lives on your device, you are in direct control of it. You can:

• Remove an individual account from the account page.
• Delete an individual entry from your order history.
• Clear everything at once with the “Clear data on this device” action.
• Clear this site’s storage through your browser settings, which has the same effect.

Using private or incognito browsing will also discard everything when you close the window. We hold no copy of any of it, so there is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

9. Children

This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Since it collects no information at all, no information about children is collected either.

10. Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles information changes, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date at the top will change with it. Because the site holds no contact details for anyone, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page if the matter is important to you.
